Bad Wolves – N.A.T.I.O.N. Album Review

What’s up guys! It’s time for another album review, and this week I had some STRONG words for Metal supergroup Bad Wolves. Their sophomore album follows the rapid success of last year’s debut Disobey, which came complete with a platinum-selling cover of The Cranberries’ “Zombie”, as well as several high-profile tours with the likes of Five Finger Death Punch, Shinedown, etc.

Seeing that their lineup consists of former members of bands like Devildriver, Bury Your Dead, In This Moment, and Divine Heresy, yet they appear to be catering more towards a Hard Rock audience, I was curious to check this out. Will they be an important band bridging the gap between Hard Rock and Metal? Or is this more insufferable Butt Rock? Find out in the review below! Thanks for watching:

Top 10 Five Finger Death Punch Songs

So, a couple years ago – no, really, a couple YEARS ago – I had the bright idea to make a list of the Top 10 Five Finger Death Punch Songs. One of the most commercially successful Metal acts of the 21st century – and quite a prominent one during my early to mid teens – I know the catalogue well and this thing should be real easy to put together, right?

I quickly gave up. I started making the list and realized that, based on what I was hearing coming out of the speakers, my problem was not gonna be NARROWING DOWN the best songs, but actually finding 10 that I liked! I was stunned at how much my tastes had changed over time. In the coming year, I went on to make a negative video about the band and then another – albeit, facetious – negative video about the band.

Fast forward two-and-a-half years, and I had this burning desire to go back and complete the list. Sure, my tastes have evolved quite a bit over the years, but it was time for a fun little trip down memory lane. And ironically, approaching this topic as a critical “outsider”, so to speak, made for much more compelling content in my book.

So here it is, a fond ode to quite possibly the bro-iest (is that a word?) Metal band of all time. I hope you guys enjoy!

Published on Metal Injection!

What’s up everybody! This past week I celebrated a significant milestone for my scribble scrabbles – Metal Injection published an editorial of mine! It’s entitled “To Snob or Not to Snob: An Exploration of the Metalhead’s Relationship With Gateway Bands”, and you can read it here!

It was seen by hundreds of people – most of whom I’ll probably never meet – who might’ve loved it, loathed it, scoffed at it, cried at the very sight of it, or most likely, couldn’t have given less of a shit.

Of course, since the checks don’t exactly pour in from an un-monetized blog by a nobody, I write about music because it’s my undying passion (and frankly, it helps me unload all those obsessive thoughts that would otherwise become neuroses). That being said, however, writing for a legitimately sizable audience is a whole other feeling. This first editorial for Metal Injection gave me a teeny tiny taste of what I work toward every day. To think that one of my dumb jokes could contribute positively (or negatively, I suppose) to someone else’s day is unfathomable. It’s inspiring, actually. At the moment, all I can think is I can’t wait to do MORE! More with this blog, more with my YouTube channel, and more for awesome outlets like Metal Injection!

Thank you so much for your support, and here’s to decades more of frenzied music talk!
